About the Event
We are diving into relationships: friends, lovers, family, business...ALL of it. How do we maintain them and our business? How do you end a relationship you have outgrown? How do relationships effect our success? How do we manage them amidst our flight? Are our connections pushing us forward or pulling us backward?
The structure of this Talk About It Tuesday is a bit different, ladies! We will begin with yoga instruction led by Beverlyn Baer who has journeyed through various styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative Yoga. Over the years and with the guidance of her teachers, Beverlyn has learned how to explore and question movement patterns and sensations in her body, as well as help her students learn the language that their own bodies speak. Your relationship with yourself acts as a sounding board for your relationships with others, and awareness is the initial step in any process of analysis or transformation. Feel Good Yoga incorporates playful movement practices with breath work and invites you to be curious about sensations in your body and how they translate into mental and emotional processes. Get to know yourself better inside and out by exploring how your breath and body move together through space. This session can aid in management of anxiety, frustration, and/or stress--two things that often can be felt in difficult relationships. There are only 12 spots available for this portion of the event, but entry covers the yoga session and talk.
After yoga, we are diving into everything relationships! This portion of the evening is going to have a table-talk set-up where highflyHERs will write out topics/questions they wish to discuss, anonymously, and the conversation will open to the room. Our goal is to have real conversations about relationships, from how we identify toxicity amongst friends to effectively maintaining a professional/personal balance at work. Nothing is off limits, we are putting it ALL on the table! Bring a pen and notebook!
Attire: Lounge/Comfortable clothing (sweats and leggings encouraged, yes--even if not doing yoga). This is a relaxed event with a setting to match. Think of it like a sleep over with girl chat, except you go home before the night is done.
